Facebook Organ Donor

Facebook recently teased that they would be bringing a new, life saving feature to all Facebook users. As with anything involving something new coming to Facebook it was met with a mix of curiosity and vitriol. Finally, Facebook has revealed the potentially lifesaving feature, and it is the ability to add organ donor status directly on your Facebook timeline.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared on Good Morning America to announce the new feature. He said the idea came to him while having dinner with his girlfriend. She works in the medical field, and knows the importance of organ donation. Therefore, Mark decided that this was something worth adding to Facebook.

Adding your organ donation status to your profile is incredibly easy. You simply go to your Timeline, click on the “Life Event” button then click “Health & Wellness”. In the list, many users will see the newly added option “Organ Donor” and other users should see it as soon as it’s rolled out.

After you click the link, Facebook will give you the option to add more information. You can add when you became an organ donor, in what state or province you are listed as a donor and a story of why you became a donor. Once you enter this information, click “Save,” and it will be placed on your timeline for your friends to see.

If you are not an organ donor, you can follow the same steps as above, and on the step where you enter more information you can click the link to become one.
