Anti-Anorexia Ad Campaign
Powerful anti-anorexia ad campaign tells women 'you are not a sketch' using models with fashion illustration proportions
Star Models, a modeling agency based in Brazil, has released a graphic new anti-anorexia ad campaign, using Photoshop to turn models into life-size fashion illustrations.
The ads, which run with the tag line 'Say no to anorexia,' show a fashion illustration with typically exaggerated proportions next to a model wearing the same outfit - and the same measurements.
While the models have been airbrushed to mimic the unrealistic illustrations, the ad pleads to young women: 'You are not a sketch.'
Animals of London Underground
Animals on the Underground is a collection of over 30 animal characters made using only lines, stations and interchange symbols on the London Underground map, created by illustrator Paul Middlewick. The concept was used in a poster campaign by advertising agency McCann-Erickson to promote the London Zoo in 2003. Mr Middlewick’s animals were used in other campaigns as well. In April 2008, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) used posters of the Seal, Elephant and Whale images to raise awareness of seal hunting in Canada, the ivory trade and whale hunting respectively.

Google Doodles of 2011
Doodles are the fun, surprising and sometimes spontaneous changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries and the lives of famous artists, pioneers and scientists.
How did the idea for doodles originate?
In 1998, before the company was even incorporated, the concept of the doodle was born when Google founders Larry and Sergey played with the corporate logo to indicate their attendance at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert. They placed a stick figure drawing behind the 2nd "o" in the word Google, and the revised logo was intended as a comical message to Google users that the founders were "out of office". While the first doodle was relatively simple, the idea of decorating the company logo to celebrate notable events was born.

Funny and Clever Illustrations
The Malaysian artist Chow Hon Lam has made some very funny but clever illustrations that also includes a touch of irony. The artist himself thinks that even if you are an animal, an object or some sort of food, you have something to say even though you can’t speak. Therefore Hon Lam wants to create and tell their story to the worldWhen people confront him about it, he just say: “I guess they must have something to say … Trust me, I try to communicate with them!” In the illustrations you can see how a the milk in a cow’s body is emptying itself while milking, gingerbread men creating themselves, a golfer breaking the sky with his golfball, etc.
Others have done similar illustrations showing how the world would be if everything was different and upside down in our lives.
Illustrated Guide to Italian Hand Gestures
Hand gestures and body language is as vital a communication medium as spoken language itself. Gestures pre-dates any language in the world, in fact, human communication evolved from gestures. It is not uncommon for people to use gestures even to this date to convey thoughts, punctuate an expression and give it a shading that the word or phrase itself lacks. But I wasn’t aware that they were so popular among Italians until I stumbled upon the Illustrated guide to Italian popular gestures by Alfredo Cassano.
Ironic and unrealistic touch to the world of comics
If you liked the article about the “things wouldn’t be so much fun if” – comics where everything was turned upside down such like pillows having fights with human bodies, or ice creams licking children, you will definitely like this one also. This time there has been added an ironic and unrealistic touch to the pictures.
