Clemson sophomore tight end Braden Galloway will suit up for the No. 3 Tigers in Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl against No. 2 Ohio State after serving a year-long suspension for failing a drug test ahead of last year’s College Football Playoff.

Galloway and two other players, defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence and offensive lineman Zach Giella, tested positive for ostarine, a muscle-growth supplement banned by the NCAA, and were forced to sit out the Cotton Bowl and national championship game. All three have maintained their innocence and said they were uncertain how the substance entered their bodies.

Countdown to Sochi 2014 Olympics

One year before Russia hosts its first Winter Olympics, this Black Sea resort is a vast construction site sprawling for nearly 25 miles along the coast and up into the mountains. For Russia and its leadership, the 2014 Sochi Games is a point of national pride. President Putin has made the Olympics his personal project and, determined to use them to showcase a powerful and prosperous Russia, has spared no expense to make sure the games are a success.

New KTM X BOW GT

A couple of weeks ago KTM has unveiled the brand new X-BOW GT at the biggest auto Show in Europe, a high performance kart-like machine that’s uber fast yet still comes with a proper windshield to protect you from bad weather. It even includes a removable roof panel for speeds of up to 130 km/h.

The insect-like design will have a 2 liter turbocharged Audi-sourced engine with 285bhp and 420Nm of torque. Its top speed will be somewhere around 220 km/h and it will be able to reach 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. The frontal and side screens will have heating and there will even be a wiper system with a wash system available as one of the extra options.

More specifications have not been released yet but they should come to light during the Geneva show along with the price and availability of the X-BOW GT.

McLaren: Good at building supercars, bad at naming them

If the MP4-12C weren’t the worst supercar name already, McLaren ups the ante by adding a few more letters along with a wing and some stickers.

The Most Expensive Poker Table

I like to play poker with my mates once in a while and this is probably the most awesome poker table I’ve ever seen. Designed by Axel Yberg from Akke Functional Art, the “All In” is apparently the world’s most expensive poker table, priced at a staggering $75,000 and made from 15 species of rare exotic wood.

Its base has been constructed with gold painted plumbing pipes and features special light bulbs. The vectors that bisect each angle on the perimeter of the table are made from Madagascar Ebon and Rose Wood and their colors, black and red, represent the suits in the deck of cards.

Montreal’s Olympic Stadium

The Olympic Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montreal, Quebec, Canada built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics. The stadium is nicknamed “The Big O”, a reference to both its name and to the doughnut-shape of the permanent component of the stadium’s roof; “The Big Owe” has been used to reference the astronomical cost of the stadium and the 1976 Olympics as a whole.

The stadium is the largest by seating capacity in Canada. After the Olympics, it became the home of Montreal’s professional baseball and Canadian football teams. Since 2004, when the Montreal Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., the stadium has had no main tenant. It currently serves as a 56,040-seat multipurpose facility for special events (e.g. concerts, trade shows), and continues to serve as a 66,308-seat venue for playoff and Grey Cup games hosted by the Montreal Alouettes.

The tower incorporated into the base of the stadium, called the Montreal Tower, is the tallest inclined tower in the world at 175 metres (574 ft). The stadium was designed by French architect Roger Taillibert, and has been cited as a masterpiece of organic modern architecture.

Well over its original budget, the stadium ended up costing $770 million to construct. By 2006, the final cost had risen to $1.47 billion when calculating in repairs, modifications and interest paid out. It took taxpayers 30 years to finally pay off the cost. Pink Floyd attracted the largest ever paid crowd to the Olympic Stadium on July 6, 1977. The event gathered 78,322 fans.

2012 Yahoo Top Searches

Top Searches: #1 Elections

The United States is sometimes criticized for its citizens' apparent lack of interest in politics, at least beyond the celebrity angle. But "elections" was this year's most-searched term on Yahoo!, even though the long campaign probably made a lot of people weary towards the end.
In the dozen years Yahoo! has ranked its annual Top 10 searches, only two other news events captured the top spot: the BP oil spill in 2010, and Michael Jackson's death in 2009. This year the half-billion people who visit Yahoo! every month typed the word "elections" more than any other.

Historic Visions of the Future

Whales facilitate underwater travel.

A set of 19th century postcards has revealed that's just what French artists thought we'd be doing at the turn of the 21st century. The set of postcards, produced between 1899 and 1910, predict what life would be like in Paris in the year 2000 - and there are some fairly bizarre scenes. The year 2000 may have been and gone - but no one has yet invented a flying fireman, or started playing croquet underwater. And while Parisians haven't as yet replaced the fireplace in their homes with sticks of glowing radium, as one portrait shows, there are some portraits which aren't too far off the mark.

Vintage Acrobatic Insanity

In this heart-stopping photograph we see three brave acrobats performing on a ledge located on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building in New York City.
